Participants wanted: "Green Business" Pilot Program

TacomaACTS is soliciting applicants for our Pilot Program for “Green Businesses.” Businesses in all industries and sizes are encouraged to apply.

This Pilot Program will connect businesses in Pierce County with existing resources to help them assess and reduce their carbon footprints in ways that are cost-effective, measurable and long-term. It will strive to collaborate and build on existing state and local efforts in research on climate change and sustainability.

Leaders in Tacoma ACTS will select 15 businesses to participate in the initial year-long program. The Chamber and Tacoma ACTS will promote participating businesses and their efforts.

For an application visit www.tacomaacts.org. Applications are due by June 30.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Tacoma ACTS blog. In February, more than 25 people participated in a daylong work session to begin establishing a comprehensive understanding of Tacoma’s “green” sector and creating priorities and action items for Tacoma ACTS. One of the first action items we knew we needed to take was to establish a stong, open way to communicate. We are working in arenas that change rapidly, and where there is a lot going on. In an effort to keep ourselves informed, this blog will serve as a forum for Tacoma ACTS participants to post events, trainings, questions, and updates. And, of course, the comment feature will allow for dialogue around these postings.

If you are not a Tacoma ACTS participant, but would like your business or organization to be inolved, please contact us. If you are a participant and would like to become a contributor to the blog, please contact Jessica.

Enjoy!
